Collective was born from a simple dream: to create a space where people could feel seen, valued, and taken care of, far beyond just getting a haircut. I’m Molly, the founder of Collective, and this shop is the result of years of dreaming, grinding, second-guessing, and an insane amount of caffeine.

From the first time I stepped into a barbershop, I fell in love with the atmosphere: the banter, the energy, the laughter. Barbering didn’t just shape my career; it pulled me out of my shy shell and instilled a confidence I never knew I had. It’s one of the most powerful things about this job — being able to make someone else feel good about themselves. I became addicted to the art of barbering. But as I spent more time in the industry, I noticed how often the barbershop experience was getting lost, the rushed appointments, impersonal service, and that feeling like you’re just a number. I knew I could do better. So, in 2023, after grinding through 10-hour days cutting hair and pouring every spare minute into building the shop by hand at night (and yes, I definitely used way too much YouTube to get through that), Collective opened its doors. It was terrifying. It was thrilling. It was the best thing I’ve ever done.

Every detail of Collective is intentional, from the skilled hands of our experienced barbers to the chill, friendly vibe we’ve got going. We’ve created a space where the chaos of the outside world doesn’t follow you in. It’s a place where you can breathe easy, laugh at a bad dad joke, or just zone out while we cut your hair. It’s about making sure you leave feeling like we really got you.
